Whether you want to reduce your consumption of plastic bottles, adopt better daily habits, or simply feel more confident in the quality of the water you drink every day, you have taken an important step.

This guide will walk you through installing your system, preparing your filters before first use, and following best practices to ensure optimal performance for many years.

Important: Prime your filters before first use

Before installing the filters, they must be fully primed. This step allows water to pass properly through the filter media and ensures optimal filtration performance from the first use.

You can prime your filters using the tap method shown in the installation video or by soaking them in clean water for approximately 60 minutes.

Step-by-step installation guide

Step 1: Install the tap

Locate the stainless steel tap, the two rubber washers, the metal washer, the tightening nut, and the supplied wrench.

1. Leave one rubber washer in place on the outside of the tap.

2. Insert the tap into the opening in the lower chamber from the outside.

3. From inside the lower chamber, slide the second rubber washer onto the threaded stem (the metal stem located at the back of the tap).

4. Place the metal washer onto the threaded stem.

5. Screw the tightening nut onto the stem and hand-tighten it.

6. Use the supplied wrench to secure the assembly firmly.

Once the tap is installed, check that it is straight and securely fastened. Do not overtighten.


Step 2: Prime the filters

Priming the filters before installation is essential to ensure optimal filtration performance.

For best results, use the tap priming method:

1. Place the supplied beige priming washer onto the filter’s threaded stem.

2. Hold the filter firmly against the end of the tap* to create a watertight seal.

3. Slowly open the tap so that a steady flow of water enters the filter.

4. Continue priming for approximately 2 minutes.

As the filter becomes saturated with water, small droplets will begin to appear on its outer surface. This indicates that the water has fully passed through the filter media and that the filter is properly primed for installation.

Repeat this process for each filter before installation.

* If your tap is fitted with an aerator, unscrew and remove it beforehand.

Alternative method

If priming under the tap is not possible, fully immerse the filter in clean water for approximately 60 minutes.


Step 3: Install the filters

Once the filters have been properly primed:

1. Remove the securing nut from the filter’s threaded stem.

2. The sealing gasket should already be installed on the filter stem. Before installation, check that it remains correctly positioned between the filter and the inside of the upper tank, around the filter opening.

3. Insert the filter into one of the designated openings in the upper tank.

4. From underneath, screw the securing nut back on.

5. Tighten firmly by hand.

6. Install the second filter in the opening directly opposite the first. This arrangement ensures even filtration and uniform water distribution in the tank.

7. Insert the supplied rubber plugs into the two unused openings to ensure a perfect seal.


Step 4: Assemble the system

1. Place the lower tank on the supplied stand or on a stable, perfectly level surface.

2. Carefully place the upper tank on the lower tank.

3. Check that the two tanks are properly aligned.

4. Install the lid.

Your Weeplow system is now fully assembled.


Step 5: Perform the initial rinse

Before drinking the filtered water for the first time:

1. Fill the upper tank with cold water.

2. Let the water filter completely into the lower tank.

3. Discard the filtered water.

4. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times.

This step removes any manufacturing residues and prepares the filters for normal use.


Step 6: Ready for use

Once the initial rinsing is complete, refill the upper tank and let the water filter naturally.

Your Weeplow system is now ready for daily use.

Filter replacement and maintenance

Replacement schedule

Your Weeplow O'Pure 2 filter elements are designed to filter approximately 22,000 liters of water.

For most households, this corresponds to approximately two years of regular use, although their actual lifespan depends on the quality of your water and your daily consumption.

The stainless steel tanks are designed to last and do not need to be replaced. You only need to replace the filter elements when they reach the end of their service life.

Maintenance and cleaning

Regular maintenance is all it takes to preserve your system's performance. By keeping it clean, you will enjoy optimal filtration and consistently pleasant-tasting water.

When first installing the filters
  • Carefully prime each filter before first use.
  • If the water looks cloudy or has an unusual taste, simply re-prime the filters until the water is completely clear.
Every month
  • Wash the lower chamber with warm water and mild dish soap. This helps prevent dust or other contaminants from entering your filtered water.
Every two months
  • Remove each filter element and clean its outer surface using cold water and a stiff-bristled toothbrush or very fine 3,000-grit sandpaper.
  • Rub one section at a time until a small amount of black carbon appears on the brush or sandpaper, then continue with the rest of the filter.
  • Prime each filter before reinstalling it.
After cleaning or priming
  • Run one or two complete filtration cycles and discard the filtered water. This step removes the harmless fine carbon particles released during cleaning, so your next batch is ready to drink.

With just a few minutes of maintenance every two months, your Weeplow water filter will continue to provide clean, fresh-tasting water for many years.

Troubleshooting

1. How can I check that my filters are working properly?

If anything seems unusual—for example, if the water filters unusually quickly or you notice an unexpected taste—the food coloring test is one of the simplest ways to check that your system is working properly.

Add a few drops of food coloring (without sugar or thickener) to the water in the upper chamber and gently stir until the color is uniform. The water should turn bright pink or red.

Then allow the system to filter normally, and collect a small amount of filtered water in a clear glass.

If a slight tint remains, this means that unfiltered water is bypassing the filter elements. In that case, see Section 4: My Weeplow water filter is leaking.

The result should be perfectly clear.

Consider this test a quick health check for your filter: simple, reliable, and reassuring.

2. My filter has become much slower. Should I replace it?

Not necessarily.

Over time, your filters naturally trap sediments and fine particles present in your water. That is precisely their purpose. As these particles accumulate, the microscopic pores become partially clogged, slowing the filtration flow rate.

In most cases, simple cleaning is sufficient, and there is no need to replace the filters.

Remove each filter element and gently clean its outer surface using:

  • a stiff-bristled toothbrush; or
  • of very fine 3,000-grit sandpaper.

Gradually clean the entire surface until a small amount of black carbon appears on the brush or sandpaper, then continue with the rest of the filter.

Once cleaning is complete, prime each filter again before reinstalling it.

A few minutes of maintenance are generally enough to restore the original filtration flow rate.

3. There is always a little water left in the upper chamber. Is this normal?

Yes, this is completely normal.

Toward the end of each filtration cycle, it is normal for approximately 1 to 2.5 cm of water to remain in the upper chamber.

This is because the filters operate by gravity. As the water level decreases, the pressure exerted on the filters' microscopic pores becomes lower, which considerably slows filtration of the last few centimeters of water.

You may also notice that the system filters much faster when the upper chamber is full than when it is almost empty. This is simply the effect of gravity.

4. My Weeplow water filter is leaking. What should I do?

Before making any adjustments, take a moment to identify the source of the leak. Its location generally indicates what needs to be fixed.

Water around the filter stems inside the upper chamber

The wing nuts located beneath the filters may not be tight enough.

Firmly tighten each wing nut by hand until it is securely in place.

Do not use tools, as overtightening could damage the components.

After tightening, repeat the food coloring test described in Section 1 to verify that the seal is watertight.

Water around the tap

The rubber gasket may be loose or improperly positioned.

Unscrew the tap, check that the gasket is lying flat against the inner wall of the lower container, then tighten the assembly properly.

Water between the upper and lower containers

There is generally no need to worry.

The two containers are designed to rest on top of each other; they are not intended to form a completely watertight seal. A small amount of water between them is generally caused by splashing during filling rather than an actual leak.

Water underneath the lower container

Start by checking that the tap is completely dry.

If so, carefully inspect the lower container for any cracks or other damage.

5. Why does my TDS reading remain high after filtration?

This is one of the questions we are asked most often.

A TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter measures the total amount of substances dissolved in water. However, it cannot distinguish beneficial minerals from unwanted contaminants.

Our filtration technology is designed to remove contaminants, sediments, and many harmful impurities while preserving naturally occurring minerals, such as calcium and magnesium.

These beneficial minerals remain dissolved in the water. It is therefore perfectly normal for your TDS value to remain relatively high after filtration.

In other words:

  • A high TDS value does not automatically mean that the water is poor quality.
  • A low TDS value does not automatically mean that the water is cleaner or healthier.

In fact, an appropriate TDS level often indicates that your water still contains beneficial minerals.

6. Why is my filtered water cloudy or have an unusual taste with a new filter?

There is no reason to worry.

New carbon filters can sometimes release very fine, harmless carbon particles, called carbon fines, during the first uses. They may make the water slightly cloudy or temporarily give it an unusual taste.

This phenomenon is perfectly normal and will disappear as the filters settle.

Before drinking the water, we recommend:

  • to wash both containers with lukewarm water and mild dish soap;
  • to perform two to three complete filtration cycles;
  • to discard the water obtained during these first cycles.

If the water remains cloudy or retains an unusual taste, the filters may not have been fully primed.

By repeating the priming procedure, you will generally remove trapped air as well as any remaining carbon particles, allowing the filters to function as intended.

After a short break-in period, your water will become clear, fresh, and ready to enjoy.
